THE OASIS (Restaurant & Residency)

For this final project of the spring semester 2023 my partner Frank Meisinger and I had to design a multicultural restaurant and residency. The residency will host a rotating cohort of three visiting chefs from around the globe, who travel to Lincoln for a period of one month to live together, learn from each other, and serve a collaborative meal each night for around twenty guests. At the conclusion of each residency, another cohort of chefs will arrive to experiment with their own fusions of cuisine and culture. In our Restaurant we created a hibachi style cooking area in the middle of the restaurant area. Here the chefs skills can be shown off to the guests. Furthermore, the exterior flexbrick is suppose to hide the inside but also invite people with it’s perorated nature.
